A grand jury declined to indict officer Timothy Loehmann, who opened fire on Rice less than two seconds after arriving at a park where the 12-year-old was playing with a toy gun on 22 November 2014. Loehmann’s partner, Frank Garmback, will also face no charges, Cuyahoga county prosecutor Timothy McGinty announced at a press conference. Subodh Chandra, an attorney for Tamir’s mother Samaria, said they had been given no information about the announcement beforehand an

Lil Wayne sued by his lawyers

Image
The year 2015 was definitely not a good one for rapper Lil Wayne. The rapper was on Monday slapped with a lawsuit filed by the same lawyers he hired to sue Birdman, his former friend and owner of Cash Money Records,  Birdman. Weezy filed a $51 million lawsuit about 1 year ago, claiming Cash Money owes him $10 million for Tha Carter V in addition to plenty of other unfulfilled payments. But Weezy's lawyers who have been dealing with the case say the rapper owes them some US$ 375,000 in unpaid legal fees. They also say they have made several attempts to recover the money from Weezy but have been unsuccessful.   Weezy has had his fair share of money problems this year. In October, he was slapped with a US$2 million lawsuit by Signature Group, a private jet-leasing company.

Van Gaal walks out of news briefing

Image
Van Gaal walks out of news briefing Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal answered just three questions before bringing a news conference to an abrupt halt on Wednesday. The 64-year-old Dutchman was unhappy at being asked about his future following speculation that he could be sacked. The media briefing, ahead of Saturday's game at Stoke, lasted just five minutes before Van Gaal's departure. The former Netherlands boss said he had only turned up to speak to journalists because of Premier League rules. As he left, he told reporters: "I wish you a merry Christmas and also maybe a happy new year when I see you. "Enjoy the wine and a mince pie. Goodbye." 4 minutes and 58 seconds Van Gaal was in an angry mood from the moment he took his seat in the media room at the club's training ground in Carrington. "Has anybody in this room not a feeling to apologise to me? That's what I'm wondering," he responded after being asked about Arsene Weng

Hint: release your album love, the fans are getting restless. But RiRi decided she'd rather spend her time by living it up on a pirate boat party in Barbados. Oh to be a celeb with all that free time. Opting for a torn denim mini-dress which failed to hide her modesty, RiRi showed off her famous curves at every opportunity. Taking a casual stroll to the bash, the Diamonds singer showed off some major sideboob on her travels to the Jolly Roger. And when she arrived at her party destination, there wasn't exactly a shortage of volunteers ready to help the 27-year-old star board the ship. Although when climbing aboard, RiRi did accidentally flash her underwear, as she raised one leg to climb aboard while clutching her dress to ensure it didn't get soaked. You may have saved your dress hun, but your dignity may b

The Taliban Beheaded a Nine-Year-Old Girl

Image
The Taliban Beheaded a Nine-Year-Old Girl in November In November, a number of news outlets reported on a huge protest in Kabul that was triggered by Taliban murders of seven individuals from the Hazara ethnic group. Somewhat lost in coverage of the larger problem of violence against the Hazara was the particularly appalling detail that one of the individuals who had been kidnapped and beheaded was a nine-year-old girl. Today the Washington Post has spoke to the father of that nine-year-old, whose name was Shukria: “She was the smartest girl in her class,” Ali, a farmer who walks with crutches, recalled in an interview last week. After spending years in Pakistan as war refugees, he and his family had returned home in 2012 to work their land again. “When I hurt my leg, Shukria told me she was going to become a doctor and fix it,” he said. Joshua Keating discussed Taliban attacks against the Hazara in an April post, writing that the increasingly brutal violence

Louisa Johnson to rush release album ridiculously early

Image
X Factor panic: Louisa Johnson to rush release album ridiculously early The 17-year-old star will be rushing her debut album, much unlike her predecessors, as the winner of the twelfth series will be released during the first quarter of 2016. Usually the winner of any series of the ITV flagship show releases their album roughly a year after the final, however Johnson's first collection of music will reportedly drop February 26, 2016 via Simco Limited. An iTunes preview listing reveals that the star plans to drop her first collection, very soon. That doesn't leave her much time. The album will include 10 tracks, including her cover of Bob Dylan's Forever Young – you know, the one that failed to set the charts alight If plans go ahead, that gives Louisa – who was mentored by Rita Ora – exactly 74 days to write, learn and record nine brand new songs. Either that or it'll be an album full of cover tracks…which is what we all obviously want don't we?

Words Changing the World: Key Quotes is nearly 400 pages long and spans many of Vlad's addresses since 2003. A thousand politicians are said to have received the book as a Christmas gift a couple of days after they were urged to read it by the deputy head of the presidential administration. Although some might be impressed by a spot of light reading, Putin has been compared to Chairman Mao Tse-tung, who released a little red book of quotes. But Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov sad the presidential administration was not actually behind the move to send the book out. "I haven't seen this book and I don'
