Reggae Artiste Black Uhuru Biography by InfosysTV The most successful of the second-generation reggae bands, Black Uhuru maintained their high quality despite numerous personnel changes in their 40-plus-year history. The first reggae band to win a Grammy award, for their 1983 album Anthem, Black Uhuru was called "The most dynamic and progressive reggae act of the 1970s and early '80s." The band, whose name comes from the Swahili word meaning "freedom," was formed in the Waterhouse district of Kingston by Don Carlos, Rudolph "Garth" Dennis, and Derrick "Duckie" Simpson. When the group experienced difficulties securing a record contract, Spencer left to pursue a solo career and Dennis joined the Wailing Souls. Simpson, who remained the thread throughout Black Uhuru's evolution, reorganized the band with Errol "Jay" Wilson and quivery-voiced lead vocalist Michael Rose. Samora Codner a.k.a Bigga Insane is a Jamaican born Dancehall/Reggae Recording Artiste from the parish of Kingston. He was raised in New Haven and spent some of his life in 4 West ,Greater Portmore. He started music right after finishing High School. He was introduced to a Young Producer called JUJU. After visiting the studio more often and listening to instrumentals and listening to other established artiste that voiced at the studio eg. Unicorn , Delly Ranks, Rfam and many others. He fell in love with the sound and became more appreciative of the work it took to actually make music, then he got the opportunity to voice his first song called “seh she love mi” and from there while being employed as a Technician he and Caesar from
InfosysTV became good friends where he was now introduced to Producer Distant Plannet of SonicLinks Productions where he recorded the song ” Bad Gyal” in 2015 it was distributed by Overlay Entertainment to ITunes. Since then he has been in the studio recording and continuously growing his online presence and learning all he needs to know over the years in music. Some of his influences are Movado, Bob Marley, Buju Banton, Taurus Riley, Garnet Silk, Bounty Killer, Spragga Benz etc. He enjoys going to the beach, playing football, writing music, playing video games and just chilling with friends and family. He always try to inspire those around him that he knows with talent, because he loves music so much, just to sit down and construct a track brings joy to his soul, he appreciates talent and hopes to motivate others who do not have the confidence to motivate themselves. One Day he dreams of becoming a producer.
