The first reggae band to win a Grammy award, for their 1983 album Anthem, Black Uhuru was called "The most dynamic and progressive reggae act of the 1970s and early '80s." The band, whose name comes from the Swahili word meaning "freedom," was formed in the Waterhouse district of Kingston by Don Carlos, Rudolph "Garth" Dennis, and Derrick "Duckie" Simpson. When the group experienced difficulties securing a record contract, Spencer left to pursue a solo career and Dennis joined the Wailing Souls. US$100,000 reward for Rodigan's Killer - FBI

A US$100,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the capture of a man believed to be a Jamaican, who the United States Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) lists as one of the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives.

THE WEEKEND STARunderstands that investigators are calling him 'Marlon Jones' while acknowledging the identity and nationality is still uncertain.

The fugitive is wanted in connection with the killing of four people, including Jamaican gang leader Robert 'Rodigan' Davis, in Los Angeles, California on October 15 this year.

Investigations have revealed that 'Jones' is part of a Jamaican criminal group, based on the US East Coast, that is involved in the illegal distribution of ganja.

In a statement posted on the FBI's website, FBI Special Agent Scott Garriola said 'Jones' has an "extensive violent criminal" history and uses multiple alias names and dates of birth.

According to Garriola, 'Jones' has been charged with crimes in the state of New Jersey under the name 'Rasheen Brantley' and served time in New York under the name 'Floyd Evans'.

Further, he said 'Jones' has used the names 'Anthony Howard', 'Anthony Winter' and variations of those names.

Garriola says investigators believe 'Jones' has already fled Los Angeles.

He said the fugitive also has connections in Connecticut, Tennessee, the Virgin Islands and Jamaica.

The FBI is asking persons with information on 'Jones' whereabouts to contact any of their local offices or the nearest US Embassy or Consulate.
